Welcome to the Bregenz Christmas Market!
Visit us from 18 November to 23 December 2016 and experience our wonderful state capital during the atmospheric Advent season.
In the heart of Bregenz, culinary, sweet and spicy delicacies, artisanry and perhaps even one or two Christmas presents await you at more than 40 Christmas huts. The Christmas tree, adorned with gift packages for the competition of our business community, may surprise you.
Artisanry, delicacies, attractions, the scent of mulled wine and a specially built manger in the Nepomuk Chapel on Kornmarktplatz, the large Christmas tree, which is donated every year by a community from the beautiful Bregenz Forest, the live nativity scene in Leutbühel as well as the traditional artisanry market in the Upper Town invite you to saunter in Bregenz and to experience the pre-Christmas period with great joy.
Families and children enjoy the manger with the live donkey and sheep, the “House of St. Nicholas”, pony riding and a Venetian carousel. One can also venture one’s first steps on our ice rink while Christmas music plays in the background.
Choral singing or concerts on the Christmas stage in Kornmarktplatz make festive sounds sound through the lanes of the Christmas market from Friday to Sunday.
Shopping in Bregenz, combined with a visit to our Christmas market: we invite you to experience the variety on offer in Bregenz’s galleries, at its museums and above all at its retail shops.

Christmas in Bregenz’s Upper Town
At the atmospheric little art and craftsmanship market in Martinsplatz, in the cellar of the St. Martin’s Tower and in St. Martin’s Tower, you have the opportunity to experience artistic moments calmly and up-close. Glassblowers, gingerbread bakers, wood carvers, wax founders, a jewellery designer and a felt processor can be observed directly at work and their self-made artisanry can be purchased.
It smells wonderful, it tastes even better: chestnuts, mulled wine, Southern Tyrolean wine and bread with bacon, sausage goods, coffee, mulled spiced cider and Christmas baking are the culinary offerings.
The Christmas mood in the enchanting ambience of Bregenz’s Upper Town is rounded off with a festive supporting programme with local and international choirs, school groups and wind player ensembles.
