The museum in the valley station of the Pfänderbahn in Bregenz is a popular trip destination in any weather and at any time of year!
Here, families go on the trace of the history of the country’s first person cable car, which opened on 20 March 1927. Picture material and exhibition items inform children and adults on the idea of a railway on the Pfänder around the turn of the century into the present.
There is much to see!
The exhibition focuses on the areas of nature, companies and technology on the Pfänder.
Postcards, posters and panoramas allow a look into the railway’s past and show the beauty of the countryside in Vorarlberg and the means that were previously used to advertise it!
Interesting information about the pillars, the cabins, the drive, the wire cable and also the route is presented vividly and in an interesting manner in the exhibition!
The Pfänderbahn and the Pfänderbahn Museum are open year-round.
(Exception: closed in November for inspections; the exact dates can be found here).
Entry to the Pfänderbahn Museum is free.
